🐕 Off-leash dog parks
Berkeley has fenced city dog parks plus huge East Bay Regional Park open spaces where dogs may roam off-leash under voice control (leashed in developed/parking areas). Keep a leash handy and a solid recall ready.
🦮 On-leash parks
Pretty city parks where dogs are welcome on a leash — great for a stroll, a picnic or a sunset without the off-leash hustle.
- Off-leash ≠ everywhere. In regional parks, off-leash applies to open space & trails under voice control — leash up in parking lots, picnic areas and on-leash-posted spots.
- Ohlone is fenced; the Marina isn’t. Ohlone Dog Park is fully fenced with small/large sections; César Chávez’s 17-acre off-leash area is open, so recall matters near roads and water.
- Point Isabel is special. 23 bayfront acres, a dog wash and a café — and its own posted off-leash rules.
- Bring water & bags. Pack your own and clean up every time — access depends on dogs being good guests.
- Hills = foxtails & ticks. Tilden and Claremont Canyon get foxtails and ticks in the dry season — see foxtails and ticks.
Andy can drive your pooch to the park & back, or take them on a longer adventure walk — add it when you book.
