How group hikes work
Your dog joins a small group of trail buddies for a real adventure in the hills and woods â exercise, socializing and plain old fun. One happy pack, one tired-out evening. Here’s how it works.
â°ïļ What it is
A group hike on each weekday you pick â every week â your dog, a few well-matched friends, and Andy out on the trails of Marin and the Bay Area. Hikes happen in the morning, so your pup gets out early, and you get a photo from every adventure.
ð A stable pack of friends
The goal is to build stable groups of dogs who get to know each other. Hiking with the same friends each time, dogs relax, find their place in the group, and genuinely enjoy every outing â it’s exercise for the body and the best kind of socializing for the mind.
ðĨū On leash or off leash â your choice
Off leash is completely optional. Every dog gets the same adventure with the same pack â you simply pick how they hike:
- Off leash â sniffing, exploring and romping free in the hills and woods, once you’ve signed an off-leash release of liability.
- On leash â same trails, same friends, leash on. Perfect if you prefer it, or while recall is still a work in progress.
ðą How to book hikes
- Pick “Group Hikes” as the service on the booking page.
- Pick your weekdays (Mon–Fri) â your pooch hikes those days every week, until you cancel.
- Tell us about your dog â how many dogs, and whether they’re joining off leash.
- Share contact details and send â you’ll see the exact price first, and Andy confirms personally.
ð How often should my dog hike?
That depends on your dog’s energy and how long they’re home alone. Regular hikes on workdays are ideal for dogs left alone during the day â see how long a dog can be left alone â and high-energy dogs thrive on more frequent adventures. â Common questions
- Does my dog have to go off leash?
- No â off leash is optional and requires a signed release of liability. Dogs can join the group on leash.
- Prefer a solo outing?
- A dedicated dog walk â just your pooch and Andy â might be the better fit.
- Going away overnight?
- That’s a job for in-home dog sitting.
